A crowd favorite! Enjoy the landscape from high above the crowd or grab the blanket and pull to send your best friend flying. The Blanket Toss, an ancient Alaska Native tradition, joined the festival in 1950 and has since become a signature event of Fur Rondy and the state of Alaska.
This iconic demonstration showcases the strength and community spirit of the North. Whether you are watching from the sidelines as participants are launched high into the winter air or joining the circle to help provide the power, the Blanket Toss is an unforgettable experience that connects modern festival-goers with Alaska's deep cultural roots.
