Each year, Chorus members are involved in writing, producing, set building, and costume making, as well as starring in the Melodrama. One of the most popular and fun elements of Melodrama is popcorn throwing. Audience members young and old delight in throwing popcorn at the cast, the chorus, and each other! From miners to pirates, zombies to Vikings, we've done it all!

Alaska Sound Celebration proudly presents the 34th annual Fur Rondy Melodrama, Port Golden: Home of the Glittering Gold Rugged Nugget, February 21 – March 8 at the 49th State Brewing Company – Heritage Theatre.
This year’s Melodrama takes place in the shadow of Alaska’s fading gold rush, as a scheming villain targets a small town inn and its prized gold nugget. As chaos ensues, the town’s noble hero rallies against evil with our heroine and a spirited cast. Good must triumph over greed in this uproarious clash of Southern charm, rugged grit and theatrical mischief.
